The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the rooms felt spacious. I especially liked having a balcony to sit and look out from. The location worked well too, about five tram stops from the Railway Station. I'd happily stay again.

We paid under €60 for a clean, roomy double, and even though we got there before check-in, it was ready. It suited us well for one night, and I'd book here again. I also left something behind, and they mailed it back to Germany without any trouble. Thanks a lot! :-)

The worst part for me was the noise outside my room. A group of drunk people gathered behind the building and carried on loudly into the early morning, both nights. There was also chatter from the conference room, so I'd try to get a room away from it. I stayed two nights in a single room that felt much too small, with a shower barely big enough for a 10-year-old. The elevator was cramped too, fitting one person and about one and a half pieces of luggage. The hotel felt overpriced for what it offered. In May 2013, the staff seemed apathetic, sometimes unfriendly, and either couldn't speak English, pretended not to, or didn't want to. At times they seemed simply uninformed: they stared at my US passport and wondered why it had no Slovak visa, though I didn't need one. I hope people in Bratislava, the capital, are friendlier and more aware of what's happening in the world than people in Slovakia's fourth-largest city.

The good breakfast and friendly staff lifted my impression a bit, but the service quality was disappointing. My first room had a door that wouldn't close; they moved me, but the replacement smelled of smoke. The hotel is just okay, with nothing special to expect. It could use some money spent on renovation.
