Mikulasska Chata

The beds were harder than we like, which was the one drawback for us. Otherwise, we enjoyed all three nights at this lovely hotel with our dog. Our room looked out over a little lake, and the town around it was peaceful and pretty. We set off on hikes from the hotel each day, then relaxed in the spa afterward. The food was very good, and the staff were lovely. Thanks for a nice stay!

After hiking in Chopok, we stopped here for lunch and were surprised by how good everything was. The children had a good menu to choose from, and we easily found dishes without pork. The chicken schnitzel with mashed potatoes was a hit, the kids cleaned their plates. The trout fillet was the best I've had, like something from a chef's restaurant, and the venison goulash was very good too. There was even a live band. We highly recommend it, it's friendly to children and to Israelis.

The half-board meals were tasty and came in good-sized portions, and the minibus to the main resort was a real help. We also found the staff friendly and helpful, with most able to chat in English. The rooms were spacious and very clean, and the spa had plenty of equipment. My two gripes were the beds, which felt a bit hard to me, and the vegetarian option, which often included fish. When we asked, though, the kitchen was always happy to make something without meat or fish.

We stopped in for lunch during or after our hikes and found the dishes fresh and delicious. The dumplings were especially good, and the service was nice. The hotel itself looks lovely, with a playground and sun loungers. We had a fantastic stay and really appreciated the experience.
