We got lost in RAJ and ended up having dinner there. The lady was lovely and even offered us a ride home since there were no taxis. We had pierogi, soup and Slovakian beer, and the surroundings were unreal.

The staff are happy to suggest places to go, where to stay, and things worth seeing. I especially liked the tasty pizza, and the classic dishes make this feel like a family pub. There’s well-poured beer, stronger drinks too, and billiards if you want to carry on chatting over a game.

After trekking in the nearby hills, this was a great place to eat. The food was delicious: I had vyprazany syr, my fiance chose bryndzowe pirohy, and we shared a good dessert. We were the only guests then, and the hostess kindly adjusted our order as we asked.

After a long hike, this is a nice place to rest. You can spend the night in a great caravan in the backyard, and there’s Plzen on tap and a good breakfast.

The owners are a hospitable couple who run the hotel themselves, and the prices were quite cheap even for students. We liked the old-style building, huge rooms with fireplaces, and big, comfortable beds. There are walkable mountains all around, with the famous ice cave nearby. Bikes, snowboards and skis can be rented, along with a trainer.
