The cottage is a good deal, though a bit of investment would help. What bothered us most was the creaky flooring. There’s an unheated extension with a big sofa and table, but it can’t be locked. You can get from the cottage to the barbecue gazebo almost without getting your feet wet. Getting there from the village is another matter: the 1.5km road is full of holes, then the last 50m climbs over gravel and dunes. When it’s wet, front-wheel drive only gets you so far.

Lovely nature around here, and the cottage is quite decent. The price and quality are a great match.

It’s a pleasant place to stay, whether in the cottage, by the fireplace in the shelter, or in the sauna with the hot tub. We found a few minor shortcomings, but a small investment could easily sort them out, and they didn’t affect our stay. The location also works well for family trips and hikes in the Slovak Paradise.

We do not recommend this place for a holiday. The cottage is attached directly to another building that has been under reconstruction for several seasons, and there’s no land included with the accommodation. The interior’s “most amazing” feature is a couch with a burn hole, propped up with a log. The beds creak so much that even the slightest movement wakes you, so you can’t sleep on them. Getting here is already a problem, with an unpaved road, a steep hill, and serious potholes. A reviewer before me said they damaged their chassis, and I’m not surprised. To get into the Slovak Paradise, you have to drive about 10 km each day. Otherwise, you’re left to rest among nettles and a dump of construction materials. Residents from huts in a closed Roma settlement are being moved to the village.
