Hotel Glamour

The beach right outside was lovely, and the food was fabulous, especially breakfast. The staff spoke little English, but they were excellent. I stayed in an apartmentový, what would be called a junior suite in the US, at a reasonable price, with a view over the "Slovak Sea" that I think can rival Tahoe in California. Parking was the one issue: there wasn't much space, and only a couple of spots were paved. I think the amusement park nearby may have contributed to that.

The room was clean and nice, the bathroom had a huge shower, and the beds were really comfortable. Breakfast was okay, and I didn't hear the weddings happening downstairs on either night. Still, for a fairly expensive four star hotel, there were quite a few shortcomings. The room equipment could have been better, and I missed having a kettle. I had to ask reception for tea, which cost extra; the teapot and cup they gave me were so dusty they looked like they'd been sitting at reception for a month. The elevator was painfully slow, so take the stairs if you don't have luggage. The balcony was full of bugs, though it was cold enough that I didn't need to use it. I also wanted to use the wellness area, but was told it had to close because the weddings might trip the hotel's power switch. And despite being told at check-in that dinner would be available for a limited time with limited options, the weddings meant I couldn't eat at the hotel at all. The receptionist wasn't able to suggest another restaurant or explain how to get there, so I had to search online, call places to check they were open, then arrange a taxi myself. It cost me 10 euros each way.

Two events at the hotel spoiled our stay. There was an outdoor wedding reception with no consideration for the guests, and another one the night before. If you want peace and quiet, don't book here.

We stopped in for lunch as a family. The menu wasn't extensive, but there was a decent range of choices, and everything tasted great. The staff were lovely and quick. Sirava was quiet at this time of year, but the lake still looked beautiful from the back balcony.
