Boutique HOTEL 11

The advertised standard didn’t match what we found. Parking costs extra on top of an already expensive room. The carpet was stained, the towels old, the wall lamp wobbly, and the bathroom had rust and mold on the shower faucet. The spa was a letdown too. With it around 0 °C outside, the outdoor jacuzzi was only slightly warm, and nobody had warned us. A plastic cover from the pumps, previously held on with ties, was floating in the water. The sauna was okay, but the relaxation area’s panoramic windows were dirty and spoiled the city view. The buffet was decent, though a spoiled mandarin in the fruit salad left a bad impression.

I’m still awake at 1:30 AM because the connecting door between my room and the next one is locked but offers no sound insulation. It feels like the neighbors and I are in the same room, and I don’t even want to get into the safety aspect. They talked until after 1 AM, then their snoring sounded like it was right beside me. I asked reception for another room, but none was available. They had no earplugs either. The receptionist spoke with the manager and came back saying nothing could be done. No options, just “I’m sorry, I can’t help you.” That’s not the service I expect from a four-star hotel. The response felt completely unprofessional and showed no real concern for guest comfort. I never thought I’d stay somewhere it was literally impossible to sleep. Completely unreasonable and disappointing.

The private rooftop spa and sauna were fantastic, with an amazing view over Nitra.

We came mainly for the rooftop spa, then found out it had to be booked three weeks ahead. We’d only planned the trip one day before arriving, so that was a disappointment. The breakfast was amazing, with plenty to eat and drink. Parking is a little way from the hotel, but that was no problem. The place feels very luxurious, almost like stepping into another world, and reception staff were really nice and multilingual.
