Chateau Appony

The pool and jacuzzi were spotless, and we found plenty of free parking. We also enjoyed the quiet setting, which made for a great night's sleep. Bratislava isn't too far away, and the hotel makes a peaceful escape from city noise, especially for couples. Nearby, there's a church, restaurants you can reach by car, and a scenic walk of about 45 minutes to the castle ruins. Our February 2023 stay at Chateau Appony was lovely. The staff were attentive and quick to help, and the immaculate rooms were beautifully furnished and smelled fresh. The decor and careful cleaning made the place feel calm and comfortable. Dinner was excellent, with very good wine and decent beer. The afternoon tea was less impressive: there weren't many cakes to choose from, and a wider selection would've been welcome. The library is beautiful, too. Chateau Appony is a lovely place for a winter or autumn break.

Dinner was delicious, though it took quite a while to arrive. I was here for a business trip and had a brilliant stay. The rooms were huge, clean, and nicely furnished, better than we'd expected. I can't think of anything else to criticize, and we'd come back when we're in the area.

We were here for a team-building event, so I can't really judge whether the price matched the service. The setting below Tribec mountain is lovely, and you can walk to the ruins of Oponice fortress. The manor house has been renovated beautifully, and the library may be the nicest I've ever seen. Our suite was especially attractive and even had a jacuzzi. Wellness, bowling, tennis, walks in English Park, and the food were all excellent.

The restaurant was the highlight for me, with amazing food and perfect service. The wellness was good, though not especially memorable: there are two steam saunas, one Finnish sauna and one infrared sauna, plus a swimming pool and a hot tub for six. Thanks to the employee who found us slippers when we'd forgotten ours.
