The hosts were really nice and had no issue with us arriving very late. The whole apartment was clean and comfortable, a great place to rest.

The listing didn't make it clear that the self-catering place we'd chosen had a shared kitchen instead of a private one. Elsewhere in Slovakia we'd paid this much for a private kitchen and a separate living room; getting those here would have cost far more than it was worth, so the price for the quality didn't add up. The owner spoke no English and wasn't especially helpful or friendly. The complex sits in a rather unremarkable village, and the advertised “balcony” for our room was actually just a back door opening onto the main street. This was the only accommodation in Slovakia that disappointed us. You can do better.
