Hotel Kormorán

We only stopped for lunch on the terrace, so I can’t speak to the hotel itself. The food was tasty and fairly priced, and the waiter even made sure our dog had plenty of water on a hot day.

The hotel is a large property, and its corridors can feel like a maze at first, though you get used to them. There’s also a wellness area, a good restaurant, and a tasty breakfast. It sits right on the Danube, with lovely surroundings and romantic walks along the river. Bratislava is about a 30-minute drive away. The staff were consistently friendly, professional, helpful, and accommodating. I recommend staying here and would come back.

The food itself was pretty tasty, both the trout and burger, but our restaurant visit was a mess. We were told the trout would take 20 minutes, which was fine, but it arrived an hour later. The burger was undercooked, so we sent it back; after another 15 minutes, we had to return it again because nobody had told us its sauce was spicy. We’d ordered the regular burger, not the spicy one. On two occasions, waiters also brought us drinks meant for other tables. The staff seemed amateurish and unable to manage the service. At least they took 10% off the bill.

The river is nearby and the surrounding nature is beautiful, so the location is really nice. My 3-day stay at the hotel itself was disappointing. The shower water didn’t drain properly, the internet didn’t work at all, and the restaurant was overpriced. The waiters also came across as a little arrogant. I wouldn’t recommend the hotel.
