Chata Paradise

We had everything we needed, and the cozy interior was well equipped. The host was easy to reach, and the location was great. Kloud deserved the top rating. Thanks so much for the hospitality!

The hosts were wonderfully welcoming and shared advice and maps. We found the prices reasonable for the location and standard, and would happily recommend the house. Phone reception was limited, though we actually liked that; shops and restaurants do require a drive. Paradise Cottage is in the heart of the Slovak National Park, with mountain and forest views, a quiet setting, and hiking routes right nearby. It’s great for an active break, with the Slovenski Raj gorges, ladders and footbridges, cycling paths, and viewpoints all within easy reach. There are caves and thermal pools nearby too. Inside, it has a traditional highland feel, with wood details and a cozy atmosphere. The rooms were clean, spacious, and well equipped, including a fireplace and a fully functional kitchen. There’s also a garden with a barbecue area and terrace, a nice place to relax and listen to the birds.

The cottage was worn and neglected, and it wasn’t clean inside or in the gazebo. We had to clean the kitchen unit, dishes, and old, dirty fridge and freezer before using them, and ended up buying a frying pan. The cabinets, drawers, and freezer were hard to open; the door, toilet, and battery were broken. Most doors creaked loudly, and the steep stairs to the upper floor felt dangerous. The owners’ belongings were scattered everywhere. It doesn’t meet the standard for more demanding guests. For reference, a private individual rents it short term, so an employer recreation voucher can’t be used.

A pleasant setting and a well-equipped cottage, with nothing else to complain about. It’s great for tourists. Just be aware that the attic is reached by steep stairs, which I don’t think suit very young children or older people with knee or hip problems.
