Aplend Vila Olivia

The duplex was clean and comfortable, and breakfast each morning had plenty of tasty variety. For a 3-star place, it worked really well. It’s an easy walk to anywhere in Novy/Stary Smokovec, and the local train station and funicular are less than 10 minutes away. A couple of things to know: the curtains are thin and the skylight can’t be darkened, which may bother light sleepers in summer. There’s a basic kitchen, but little room to sit, so it’s really only suitable for simple meals.

The apartment was clean and nice, and just a five-minute walk from the city centre. It was noisy, though: you can hear the upstairs neighbours quite clearly, and there were lots of noisy children in the hotel. Breakfast was simple but had all the essentials. I’d recommend it if noise isn’t a concern.

We were celebrating my partner’s birthday in Tatra, and APLEND staff arranged champagne and cake for the agreed time for a reasonable extra charge. The accommodation was lovely, practical and thoughtfully done, and breakfast had a delicious variety. Thanks for everything!

A lovely view of the hills and a great base for hiking. The rooms were clean and nice, the staff friendly, and a special thanks to Jan for making sure all our requests were met. The restaurant was well worth the money, with really delicious dishes. There’s an outdoor kids’ corner, so it works for babies and children too. Wi-Fi was fast and stable, though it would be better if the room and restaurant shared one proper network. This place is just amazing.
