Wellness Hotel Borovica

I love Borovica and gave it five stars. It's tucked into the forest, about 10 minutes from Štrbské Pleso train station, with lovely design, lots of wood indoors, and a beautiful lobby. The spa has six saunas, a pool, and a jacuzzi, and there's a very good gym for all the exercises you need. As a fitness trainer, I know it well. The rooms are spacious, especially the bathrooms. Breakfast tastes good, and the woman making omelets and pancakes is especially warm and welcoming. A few things could be better. On weekdays, guests are asked to leave the spa at 20:50, earlier than the stated closing time of 21:00. Breakfast food isn't always replenished promptly; for example, the red fish can run out before 9 a.m. and stay gone. There's no kettle in the room, and the blue pine-scented sauna needs renovation. The man driving the ski bus isn't very friendly. I hope the owners take these comments into account.

The atmosphere in this forest hotel is lovely, and the food was delicious. Service was outstanding too. Special thanks to restaurant waiters Laco and Tomas for taking such good care of us.

The hotel is well placed, with a 15-minute walk to the village centre, and a bus from the hotel takes skiers to the lift. Our room was cozy and clean, with a balcony and a comfortable bed. The staff were friendly and helpful. The spa has several saunas and a jacuzzi, and the massages are worth recommending. We had half board: the breakfast buffet was complete, while dinners were creative and delicious course menus.

The wellness area was a highlight. We were lucky to find it uncrowded, so we could enjoy the pool and all the saunas in peace. The hotel was quiet and comfortable, just right for a relaxing break. Breakfast and dinner were both delicious and nicely presented, and the wine bar and English bar had a lovely atmosphere. We'd definitely recommend it for a calm, rejuvenating getaway.
