The setting among the forest and mountains is lovely, and Strbske Lake is only a few minutes away on foot. There's plenty of tourist infrastructure nearby, including places to eat and get coffee, souvenir shops, ski rental, parking and a train station. The hotel itself is a socmodernist and brutalist architecture icon, famous in part for the Molchat Doma album cover. A must-see at least once in your life, period. The rooms can look a little expensive, but breakfast and parking are included. They're spacious, with a fully equipped kitchen, living room and huge balcony. Dogs can stay for an extra charge, and the hotel supplies bowls, a dogbed and a few treats. Nice touch! The restaurant's a la carte menu is available until 16:00; after that, it's buffet only, and the buffet isn't overpriced.

The staff make the biggest difference here. A big thank you to receptionist Marian, who's always welcoming and keeps the customer in mind. The hotel is clean and well maintained, the food is good, and the price is fair for the location.

We came back for a second stay, this time in winter after visiting in summer. The free covered parking was a real plus, and being able to borrow sleds and skis at no charge was especially handy in the winter. Our room was very clean and roomy, more like a little apartment, with a convenient kitchenette. There was a small minibar too, and it was free. For what we got, the price seemed fair. We enjoyed staying here and would happily return to Štrbské Pleso.

The kids really enjoyed the evening entertainment, and we had a great spring holiday here. The accommodation, food and staff were all great. Nothing negative to report, and we'll definitely come back. I highly recommend the hotel.
