The rooms were cosy and clean, the beds comfortable, and the windows and balconies blocked sound very well from the corridor and other rooms. Breakfast and dinner were luxurious, keep the cook! The route suggestion in the room book was excellent, though it could use difficulty levels for untrained people and families with children, plus an English version for foreigners. Overall, we were satisfied with the accommodation. Before arrival, check that the balcony door opens and closes easily. I also missed having a phone book in the room, and the phone had no dial tone. There were plenty of frustrating details. Some staff at reception didn’t give much help, perhaps because of personnel selection in this location. We had to pay for basic drinks with dinner, even water with lemon, and then for parking too. I checked, and the municipal authority doesn’t require a parking fee. I parked on the hotel grounds and didn’t expect that extra charge. The ventilation grilles in the bathroom and toilet need cleaning. Staff twice failed to understand my request to preheat the infrared sauna. From experience, I know it takes a few tens of minutes to go from 30°C to 60°C, but it was still off. The cooling jacuzzi was like soup from previous visitors, with no sign it had been changed or cleaned for new guests. In the SPA, I’d skip the infrared sauna and just shower with ice water, it’s more hygienic. They need to sort out the SPA and small details too. Asking how much a drink costs isn’t placing an order. Zubačka isn’t a train and has completely different departure times. I gave the room number three times and they still wrote it down wrong. If they fix things like this, it could be a really good hotel. The parking charge is truly embarrassing.

Rooms weren’t very clean, there was a lot of noise outside, and we couldn’t adjust the temperature. It was 23 degrees inside, much too warm for us. The restaurant was sort of closed and only had a buffet with hardly any choice. Staff were unfriendly and didn’t seem to understand their own rules. We paid 25€ per dog per night, and parking wasn’t free. A horrendous experience. Spend your money elsewhere, they don’t deserve it.

We had apartment 313, the big one, for our group of two adults, two teenagers, and one toddler. It was a very nice place, with a good little kitchen, lots of entertainment for kids, and a big, useful parking area.

The new hotel is stylish and very well located. Our room/apartment was clean, spacious, and well organized, and our two-year-old daughter enjoyed the location and facilities. But we were really disappointed by the communication and customer service. We had booked a package with wellness, but when we arrived, a hotel representative said the Jacuzzi was out of order. We asked for compensation and got nothing. We also had to pay an extra 3,50€ for our daughter’s breakfast, even though she only eats corn flakes with milk and a piece of cake, which wasn’t fresh every time. We were surprised by the 3,50€ charge. The package included boating on Strbske Pleso, and our daughter was excited, but they refused our voucher because only a child older than 3 years could go on the boat. Nobody had told us that beforehand. We asked reception again for compensation or a solution, and again got nothing. The service couldn’t help us or give the level of assistance we expected from a 4 starts hotel. We wanted to extend our stay, but after all this and no willingness to offer any Rabat or compensation, we went home very dissatisfied. What a shame for Slovak services in High Tatra!
