I’m replying as the owner of the FLORIDA and ADRIA guesthouses to Mr. Marušinec’s account. I told him FLORIDA would not open until May 1st, so I couldn’t host him there, but offered a place at ADRIA next door. He said it suited them and that they were setting off. Later, they called to say their motorbike had broken down and they would not come. I took note of that. Much later they called again, saying it had been fixed and they were coming after all. I told them I had one studio left and could accommodate them. They arrived at 8:30 PM, although check-in is until 6:00 PM, and I showed them to the studio, which was clean and smelled fresh. They then started asking to grill and for a studio with a balcony. I explained that grilling was only on the TEFAL XXL, showed them the grill on the terrace, and pointed out where the spices were. The next morning they were due to leave by 09:00. The last studio I had available had no balcony, and I had never promised evening grilling. They also objected when I said everyone must clean the grill after using it. The studio has two large windows and a third, smaller one. Mr. Marušinec is not telling the truth about empty bottles being scattered on the terrace. Bottles of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are set out on the table for all guests as a courtesy. Each studio has its own seating area on the shared terrace, with ashtrays, so smoking is allowed there. If smoke was noticeable after smoking, it would have been on the terrace, where it is permitted, not in the room. They had strong demands about a balcony and a barbecue that had not been promised, and raised them in the evening while I was waiting for them during my personal time. I politely told them our accommodation was not what they were looking for and suggested they find another place rather than force things. I showed them out politely and said goodbye. Their complaints were about different things from what they listed, and they are misleading and offended. In future, I advise them to check in advance whether terrace smoking is allowed if they are sensitive to it, what time check-in ends, whether grilling is possible, and whether a balcony studio is available. They should not arrive late in the evening, long after check-in, and then make things up and speculate. I wish them all the best.
