Marián was a lovely, easy-going host, and the neighbors and housekeepers next door were lovely too. They make excellent jams, coffee and other treats, and meeting them was a real pleasure. Marián also runs the main info center with a cafe in Terchova, at the crossroads next to Lidl, so we got tips and programs directly from him. We picked up and returned our keys there. We loved this spacious, well-kept log cabin, one of the oldest in Terchova. It has an authentic, magical feel and sits in a quiet spot about a 5-10 minute walk from Jánošíkovy diery. Inside, there’s a big main room with a fireplace, though we didn’t need it in summer, and a comfortable double bed. Our two kids slept comfortably on the large sofa bed. The bedding smelled fresh and we slept really well. The kitchenette was nicely equipped, and the water tasted fresh, like a mountain spring. We took some along on our hikes. The clean toilet and shower were spacious too. There’s a large garden with a grill and seating by the fire, and we parked at the back. We didn’t turn on the TV once, there was no need. If you like a homely feel, peace, authentic surroundings and good people, we’d recommend it 100%.

The chalet was beautiful, clean and in a great location, and the fireplace warmed it up quickly. Parking was farther away on an unpaved surface. It was wet when we visited, which made parking difficult.

The wooden house and the stove heating make for a really romantic stay. The surroundings aren’t ideal, but we could live with that. Maybe we were too busy, but we expected shampoo and at least two rolls of toilet paper, or at least a heads-up that we should bring them. It’s easy enough to buy them, but then you lose half a day of your holiday.

Everything was clean, and the wooden house has loads of atmosphere. It’s on a quiet street near Jánošíkove diery, a great pizzeria and lots of huts. We have no complaints and would happily come back.
