Penzion u Laca

We stayed during the 2023 winter break in a double room on the first floor. The shared areas were a plus: there’s a fully equipped kitchen and a TV room with a fireplace. The host was very kind, the location was great, and the entrances were well kept and cleared. The room was warm and clean, with unlimited hot water. The room itself was disappointing. Calling it a room feels generous: it was basically a bedroom with two beds that were too short and a wardrobe with no shelves. There was nowhere to put clothes, so we had to keep them in a bag, making the cramped space feel even tighter. The only window was about 50 by 50 cm, like in a basement, and the room felt depressing. The entrance from the parking lot smelled strongly of cats lounging and eating there. For just a bedroom and bathroom, the price was excessive. You can sleep there, but that’s about it; it didn’t feel restful, and I came away with a bad impression. There are larger rooms in the building, including ones with their own kitchens, which I can recommend. A shared kitchen and living room make sense when friends rent the whole house, but sharing a fridge, dishes, and space with strangers isn’t always a good idea.

We liked the quiet surroundings during our first-week-of-September stay. The guesthouse was pleasant, and our cozy room with a kitchenette was clean and well equipped. There was practical seating and parking on site, and the owner was nice.

We booked just ten minutes before arriving, and the owner had the room ready in under 40 minutes. While we waited, we could use the kitchen and were offered coffee. She was friendly and resourceful, and everything was clean, with fresh linens and a clean bathroom. The shared kitchen is stocked with all the basics and more: cutlery, cups, glasses, pans, and pots, so there’s no need to bring anything. Towels and hand soap are provided in the room. It’s a fantastic base for a mountain holiday, close to lots of peaks and waterfalls. There’s parking for 4-5 cars, a barbecue area with a gazebo, and a small playground. I wholeheartedly recommend the place and would love to come back.

We spent two nights here while touring and were very satisfied. The rooms were clean and spacious, with good amenities, and being close to the village center was a plus. Both the inside and outside were at a decent standard. The hostess was kind and helpful, and the price for what you get is excellent. I recommend it.
