The Country Lodge Hotel

Breakfast was a real highlight, with a spotless, organized dining area and a buffet full of options. There was an omelet and egg station, plus international and authentic local dishes. Aaron and Osman made my eggs just the way I like them. The supervisor and the team, Joseph, Fatima, Mabinti, Bintu, Mansaray, Ibrahim, Christiana and Narthanus, were attentive and often anticipated what I needed. I was upgraded to a suite, which was spacious, comfortable and spotless. The balcony had a breathtaking city view, and the bed was exceptionally comfortable. Thanks to Sunday, the housekeeping supervisor, along with Tadie and Daniel, for keeping everything so well prepared. The warm service really stood out throughout the hotel. Agnes and Fatmata at reception were friendly, informative and gave spot-on advice. Munich, the maintenance supervisor, quickly helped with the AC, while Muctarr, the technician, and Patrick Kamara in laundry were also helpful. Sanjay Dutta, the Reservation & Revenue Manager, arranged the complimentary upgrade and personally sorted out minor hiccups quickly and professionally. His friendly manner made me feel welcome. From check-in to departure, everything was handled with care. The staff across departments were consistently welcoming and attentive, and the combination of their service and the excellent breakfast made this one of my most seamless and enjoyable hotel stays in a long time. I'll recommend it to colleagues and friends and look forward to coming back.

I travel to Sierra Leone three times a year, and The Country Lodge has become my favorite place to stay. The location is great, and both the food and service are amazing. Sudhanshu impressed me all week with his exceptional service. I'm looking forward to returning with my team in April.

The Country Lodge Hotel sits on top of Hill Station, with wide views over Freetown and the Atlantic. It offers a quiet setting and convenient access for business travelers, consultants and leisure visitors, though getting around can be difficult without a private vehicle. Rooms are spacious, with air conditioning, smart TVs and ocean views. Suites and executive rooms add comfort, but some guests have mentioned uneven cleaning and occasional maintenance problems. Wi-Fi is generally reliable, especially in public areas. The Eden Restaurant has decent food and a scenic terrace; breakfast is generous, though some would like healthier choices such as yogurt. Staff are usually warm and helpful, particularly at reception and in the restaurant. Room service and poolside dining are available. The outdoor pool, fitness center, tennis court and children's play area make the hotel suitable for families. Events can bring loud music that interrupts the otherwise peaceful atmosphere. Rates are competitive for a four-star hotel in Freetown, but some guests feel the price doesn't always match the experience. Card payments can be unreliable, so cash is often preferred. There's also an airport shuttle and conference facilities for consultants and institutional guests. It's a good choice for a quiet stay with panoramic views and useful amenities. The hospitality and location are strong, while more consistent room upkeep and smoother guest logistics would improve the experience.

The view is great, and all the staff are wonderful people. I'd recommend staying here.
