The rooms are spacious and spotless, and we loved it enough to add an extra night as soon as we arrived. This is such a peaceful, paradise-like spot, surrounded by flowers and birds, just moments from the beach and museums. It’s a stunning, one-of-a-kind building and supports a great cause.
The hosts made us feel very welcome and were so friendly. Our room opened onto a beautiful terrace, and from this sweet little hotel in the middle of the island, it was easy to get to all the important places.
Downstairs there’s an interesting shop selling artefacts, and the building itself is a lovely former colonial house with quirky, tasteful decor. Everyone was super friendly. It’s a non-profit, with all the proceeds going to education.
The breakfast terrace in the main house was picturesque and relaxing. We stayed in the annex, in room 7, which was huge and had a lovely terrace and view. I’d stay at Asao on Goree again in a heartbeat.
Back again at this idyllic place on Goreé island, maybe our fifth visit. This time we had the lower ‘red room’. It’s large, with two double beds and an en suite bathroom. After the white room, it’s my favorite. Breakfast in the garden among the wonderful birds, the calm, and the perfect temperature made it feel like paradise.
