Hôtel Fleur de Lys Plateau

The staff were very friendly, but the stay was barely ok. The central air conditioning control wasn’t adequate or ideal.

The rooftop bar and pool are on the 12th floor, with a magical view of the ocean, sunrise, and sunset. I was here for work in Dakar and enjoyed the hospitality. At breakfast around sunrise, staff opened the floor-to-ceiling window blinds, and the sunrise was amazing. Breakfast was nice, and the staff were fantastic. On my first day, reception came outside and negotiated a taxi fare so I wouldn’t overpay, which was very nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable, and I enjoyed my stay. Food and drinks are expensive, as they are in most hotels, but there are some great places to eat nearby.

The extra charge of 12 dollar for my prepaid reservation and city tax felt like money taken for nothing. The price is crazy, and then you get inside to find a shower that looked abandoned, as if for animals. The curtain stains were insane, there were broken sinks, and new paint over old dirty paint. Weird small charcol color insects were in the bed and carpet. Construction was going on close to the windows, with chicken and other animals and pet sounds around. The water was only drops, so you had to wait to see when it would come back. There was no hot water when I tried to shower, only cold. No wifi, I couldn’t connect, and there was no secured internet with zero GB. The small broken closet had a few drinks, soda and water, at high prices. Breakfast on the highest floor felt like a horror movie, and if you have chili, don’t go there. I saw no families in any way. They say there’s a pool, but it was just a baquet of water on a dark highest flour, closed off from being reached. You’ll pay European prices for the dirtiest products you can get. Run away. Fake fake fake reviews, every hour you’ll find 7 to 9 reviews at the same time with 5 stars, hhhhhh. It was the worst experience I ever had in my life, HORROR ONE.

The pool is too small, but there’s a public room for exercise and the walking machine is working. The staff are there to help, and some are friendly, like at other local hotels. The room was good, with a hot shower, and the breakfast buffet was good too. Yes, it costs, but for the price I paid, I’m fairly satisfied.
