The fish was especially fresh and delicious, and the drinks were great too. I really enjoyed my vacation. The beach is wonderful, the rooms are clean, and the service is very good, with helpful, welcoming, kind staff. My only small point is that they should change towels without waiting for guests to ask. Otherwise, everything was perfect.

What made the biggest impression was the food and the staff. Everyone, from the kitchen and front desk to the musicians after dinner, showed remarkable warmth and hospitality. They were always ready with recommendations or a drink and made sure we were comfortable with a smile. The included breakfast and dinner were among the best hotel meals we’ve had. Breakfast had crepes and omelets made to order, plus plenty of fresh baguettes, pastries, and juices. Dinner changed nightly, with dishes such as lamb shank, seafood buffets, and Senegalese favorites like Yassa and Dibi. The bungalows are comfortable and serene, tucked among gardens, and the peaceful, clean beach is a lovely place to soak up the sun. The resort feels like a warm welcome to Senegal, with its hospitality and openness. It’s secure and well placed for tourist sites and markets around Saly. Local markets, villages, and nature reserves are all less than an hour away. The area feels safe and welcoming to tourists from different backgrounds, and the people and greenery are enchanting. There are a couple of drawbacks. Sellers sometimes approach you on the beach. Usually a firm “no, merci” lets you relax again, though a few people promoting excursions or restaurants kept at it for longer than expected. Most of the time the beach is peaceful. English is also somewhat limited at the resort. I speak French and understand it’s the main business language in Senegal and neighboring countries, but a few English menus around the restaurants and pool, plus more conversational English at the front desk, would make check-in and checkout easier for English speakers. I’m sincerely grateful to the Royam staff for making our stay so wonderful. We’ll surely visit this peaceful oasis again, and I highly recommend a few nights here to anyone visiting Saly or Senegal and wanting to experience the community’s deep-rooted Teranga.

The rooms are excellent and the facilities were perfectly clean. Breakfast was plentiful and great. Lunch and dinner were the weak points: the waiters seemed unmotivated and slow, and the food wasn’t good or properly cooked. My wife even had stomach issues. I’d recommend booking with breakfast only, rather than half board or full board. Saly has lots of good restaurants, and it’s safe to go out in the evening.

It’s right by the sea, very clean, and well looked after by a Frebch director. There are lots of activities included, and both the food and service were excellent. Amazing hotel.
