Keur Saloum Resort

Lovely setting, fantastic views and location, friendly staff, good food, and nice entertainment at dinner. It’s on the expensive side, though. I took a star off because the bedrooms didn’t have mosquito nets. The smell after the daily cleaning suggested they used a lot of spray or insecticide, and I’d have preferred a way not to breathe it in. Also, breakfast tables weren’t always cleaned thoroughly. We’d find crumbs and food residue on tables that had been cleared.

I brought 50 students and 7 chaperones to Keur Saloum, and the rooms, surroundings, and staff were all great. Georgette at reception deserves a special mention. She was courteous, dedicated, hardworking, and helpful, and handled all our needs professionally. Hakeem also took great care of us and helped during lunch and dinner. I’ve forgotten the kitchen gentleman’s name, but he helped us set up our Ataya with care and all the safety precautions. Jërëjëf Keur Saloum, merci Georgette!!

We stayed three nights with the family in April. The rooms were spacious, the pool was nice, and being right beside the mangroves made for a great location. It isn’t cheap, but I thought it was worth it.

The pool was clean and great, and the Wi-Fi worked well. We had a good view from our room overlooking the river, plus good air conditioning. The only thing I’d improve is the bar service.
