I needed to renew my passport at the Venezuelan embassy in Suriname, and the hotel kindly looked up the information for me before I went. The room felt cozy and harmonious, and I really liked the super attentive, patient customer service. I loved my stay at Gess hotel and definitely recommend it 100%.

I've stayed at the Gess Hotel twice recently. The first visit was quite pleasant, but on the second they charged me more, saying that was the walk-in rate. The room I was given was dirty, so I switched to another one with a strong moldy smell, poor lighting, and urine stains on the bathroom floor. WiFi didn't reach that more expensive room.

The rooms are super clean, and the manager was very helpful. When the WiFi wasn't very good in one of the farther rooms, I asked to move, and he kindly opened all the available rooms for me to choose from. He also arranged tour guides for Maroon village and Jodesavanna, plus shuttles to the airport.

It's a standard hotel with the usual amenities and clean, spacious rooms. The hallways had a slight damp smell. I'm giving it 4/5 because I felt it was pricier than a hotel in Suriname should be, though maybe I'm wrong.

I had a really pleasant stay. The rooms are spacious and very clean, and there are lots of promotions, so the cost won't clean out your wallet.
