The hotel feels personal because it's small, and the very friendly staff remember you when you come back. We stayed in the newer building across the quiet road. Its own pool was quieter than the main building's, and the rooms seemed larger. We preferred it there.

It's a cozy, friendly place in a quiet, clean neighborhood with plenty of restaurants and supermarkets nearby. It's a bit removed from the action. My one complaint is that one staff member, a young man, came across as unfriendly and a little unwelcoming. I hope the owner finds out and gives him some training.

The staff's warmth and attentiveness made my July 2023 stay at Villa Famiri especially memorable. On arrival I was welcomed with a refreshing coconut drink, and the clean facilities and lush garden made for a peaceful setting. My air-conditioned room was cozy, and the neighborhood felt safe and quiet. Fast food, groceries, and restaurants were conveniently close by. The one small drawback was being some distance from the city center, though a taxi ride took just 10 minutes. Villa Famiri made a relaxing and hospitable place to stay in Paramaribo.

The staff were the highlight for us. The ladies were attentive, eager to help, and so sweet with our kids, we felt right at home. The room had everything we needed, including air conditioning, a fridge, a TV, and water. A really nice hotel in Paramaribo, highly recommend staying here.

We came back to this hotel after every trip, and it felt like coming home each time. The staff are great, and we love the women who work there day and night. It's a lovely place to hang out and relax, with drinks, food, and snacks, including Djogo's and frikandellen, that very odd Surinamese-Dutch combination. Love the people and the place.
