La Casa de Mamapán

It’s a small, family-run hotel in the busy center of Ahuachapan, out in the westernmost part of El Salvador. The town is full of life, with food, merchandise, and people everywhere. The hotel is well kept and has antique decor, and the staff are very friendly. Love it here.9

A bit more expensive than other places nearby, but the rooms are quiet and clean, and breakfast is good!

The California king bed was super comfortable, and there’s lots of decoration all over the hotel. The staff were kind and helpful. One lady even helped me find healthy food nearby. There are several restaurants around, plus a really cute plaza right in front. I thought breakfast was just right, with a little bit of everything.

The main issue was how the staff handled things when I extended my stay by one night. I arrived late and was told I had to pay right away. I asked to settle up in the morning at checkout, but they insisted on payment then. When I requested a receipt, they said I’d have to wait until morning. I told them that if they demanded payment from me, I’d demand a receipt from them. It took 25 minutes to get it, which was a frustrating end to the evening. The next morning, while I was loading my motorcycle, a staff member asked for my room key. I said I’d return it when I was ready to check out. The staff need to calm down and treat guests respectfully. The rooms are nice, with good beds, air conditioning, and hot water. Everything was very clean, the WiFi was fast, and there were lots of dining options around the block. Breakfast was simple, with good strong coffee.
