We only spent the day, enjoying the beach and the facilities, but I'd love to return for a couple of nights. It's very clean, the food and service were great, and there's not much of the pressure you get at some other places.

For foreign tourists, there are better options nearby, even if this might suit nationals. The owner of Rancho Cucolandia is difficult and tends to promise too much, then deliver too little. They don't have a kitchen or food service, outdoor gear like paddles and surfboards, or much in the way of amenities.
