We were a family group of 18, with kids, visiting for a beach day after someone recommended the place. We rented a room so we’d be more comfortable, and the adult and children’s pools were nice. The restaurant experience was very bad. We wanted to eat upstairs for the view, but the waiter seemed inconvenienced and kept insisting we do things his way because it was easier for him. We didn’t want to spend time sitting in a restaurant waiting for food, which seems reasonable for a family our size. The food wasn’t good for the price, and a $20 soup was missing an item. Instead of bringing it, the waiter lectured us and blamed us for waiting upstairs. The workers weren’t friendly either. El Salvador has a lot of potential for tourism, but not with this attitude. The manager needs to do much better. Tourists support these jobs, and bad reviews won’t bring business.

My parents visited last week and ordered three soups after being told the mariscada cost $15. When they paid, they were charged $30 per mariscada soup.

Of the hotels we found while vacationing with family in ES, this was the best. It was the first visit for my family, who are sensitive Americans, while I’m more relaxed about accommodations. I’ve been coming to this beach since I was a little kid. It’s become more developed every year, but it’s definitely nice, and they have a bar and serve food too.

I stayed here about seven years ago, and that visit was much better than this one. Maybe the time of year made a difference, August instead of July, but the infrastructure is run down and the food was expensive, bland, and cold. I’m not going back.
