Eco del Mar Hotel

The hotel grounds were beautiful and scenic, and we loved the little pool and the overall vibe. It’s close to everything, so you don’t have to walk far. Of the four hotels we stayed at during our nine days in El Salvador, this was our favorite. We’re planning to return and will book here again. We were there March 28, 2025 to March 31, 2025, and were lucky to get the two main-floor rooms. Our late flight meant we arrived around 11:00 pm, but the rooms were ready. They were very clean, spacious, and had everything we needed, including a small fridge, sink, microwave, and toaster oven. Breakfast was very good. The staff were fantastic, friendly, and helpful. We also appreciated the owner staying in touch by email and answering our questions right away. Thanks again for a great stay!

The rooms are spacious, and breakfast was amazing. The beach is only about 50 meters away.

My husband and I stayed four nights. The room was large, and I liked that the hotel was small. It’s just a two-minute walk to the beach. Payment was a problem: they required cash, and transferring money would have meant an extra 4% charge. There was no hot water, and the room wasn’t cleaned daily. We had to ask for cleaning. The room smelled strongly of damp, and even the pillowcases smelled bad. After the first night, we asked for fresh blankets and pillowcases and told the staff about the odor. They just rolled their eyes.

Roberto was attentive with the booking and quick to answer all my questions. The on-site staff, Wendy and Jose, were lovely, helpful, and very hospitable. Eco del Mar is a great place in El Tunco, at a good price and in a perfect location. It’s kept very clean, the rooms are comfortable, and ours had air conditioning, a mini fridge, and a private balcony with a hammock and patio chairs. Breakfast was delicious. We highly recommend it.
