Royal Decameron Salinitas - All Inclusive

At the principal restaurant chack balan, the buffet had little variety and the food lacked flavor. Meat options were very limited, and the dessert selection wasn't great either. There was no ice cream. They have everything they need to do much better.

Mirna Polanco made our meal at Oliva especially enjoyable. She was warm, attentive, and caring from the moment we sat down, knew the menu well, and offered helpful recommendations. She kept checking that everything was right without getting in the way. Her professionalism and friendly manner made a real difference, and service like hers would bring me back. I highly recommend Oliva, and Mirna is a wonderful person to have serving you.

The worst part began at arrival. After a long flight and an Uber ride, we were turned away at the gate because it was before the 3 PM check-in time. Staff said we could pay extra to enter or leave and return later. I’ve never been denied entry for arriving early; usually you can wait in the lobby or have a welcome drink while the room is prepared. It was an awful start to the vacation. Later, we had a reservation at the Maya Steak House and were on the confirmed list, but they refused to seat us because we had lost the physical voucher. They could see our names on the list, so this felt needlessly rigid and unprofessional. Even bottled water wasn't included despite Royal Decameron advertising itself as “all-inclusive.” When I asked the front desk for water, they told me to buy it at the boutique store. I've stayed at many all-inclusive resorts and never been denied bottled water. The whole stay was disappointing. Royal Decameron in El Salvador fell short on hospitality, flexibility, and basic customer service. I wouldn't recommend Royal Decameron El Salvador to anyone wanting a relaxing vacation. There are better options in El Salvador where guests are treated with respect and the experience matches the price.

The restaurant is open until 10:00 p.m., but by 9:00 p.m. they're already cleaning up. The waitress was impossible to get hold of, since she was the only one serving the whole restaurant. On the first floor the extractor fan wasn't working, so we sat surrounded by smoke. The second floor wasn't covered, so we couldn't go up there. There's no beach at all, and the service is terrible. Don't come here. All the good reviews about this hotel seem to be from locals.
