Hotel Capital

This place needs renovation, and what they charge doesn't make sense for the experience. I got trapped in the elevator when the door wouldn't open, and security had to get me out. I was stuck for about 15 minutes. This happened during my stay on the last weekend of May 2022. I wouldn't recommend the hotel, and after that awful stay I should have asked for my money back.

We checked in but couldn't stay. The room smelled awful, like damp, stale carpet that badly needed shampooing. The receptionist understood and refunded our booking.

The staff were very helpful, and the hotel is well placed for getting to lots of restaurants. Just know that unused nights aren't refunded in cash; they only give you credit for a future stay. So if you decide to move to another hotel because you don't like this one, you'll be left with that credit.

The towel situation got awkward fast: there were four of us, but the room had only two large shower towels, and they wanted extra money for two more. I pointed out that I'd already paid more for the fourth guest and the booking was for four, not two. When staff brought the requested towels in exchange for the dirty ones, I heard the receptionist over the walkie-talkie telling her not to hand them over. The stay came with three breakfasts, with an extra charge for the fourth person. The room itself was nothing like the website photos. Those showed a living area with one bed and a separate bedroom with two, but after paying, I found three beds crammed into one room with barely any space to walk between them. The website also gave incorrect information and wouldn't work for payment: it listed the "Habitacion Triple" for four people at $68, while the receptionist said it actually cost $78 plus another $12 for the fourth person. I was completely disappointed with this stay.
