Comfort Inn Real San Salvador

The room only had two towels even though we paid extra for a third person, and there were no hand towels or spare towel for the floor. The floor got wet because the shower leaked. They’d left only one set of shampoo, conditioner, and body lotion, which was disappointing, even though we don’t rely on free toiletries. The listing on third-party sites needs updating: there’s no valet parking, breakfast, or self-service laundry. Parking is available in an outside lot about four blocks away. Laundry service is offered, but at $2 per item, that feels outrageous in a country where you can get food for less than $1.

The staff were wonderful and so helpful and friendly. We could have stayed another day, but it was time to explore another lovely town in El Salvador. The building entrance is tricky to spot because they aren’t allowed to put up a lighted sign. Look for the black iron door just before the Super 7 store sign. You can pull over briefly, and the attendant helps unload your bags. They explain where to park, or, as in our case, kindly walked us to the lot so we wouldn’t get lost. It’s two blocks away and an easy walk back. Keep your ticket so you can leave without a charge, since it’s a public lot and the ticket confirms you’re with the hotel. At checkout we walked over, parked in front of the gate, and the attendant helped load the car. Easy peasy. The website does mention parking, but the details can be confusing if no one explains them. The rooms are small, which is expected and acceptable for the price and how close they are to centro historico. The bathroom is decent sized and modernized, with hot water. Laundry service wasn’t great, so we skipped it. Like at many hotels in El Salvador, you shouldn’t expect hand or wash towels. I bring my own after staying in many hotels in the country. They also provide no extra toiletries and just one bath towel per guest. The room opens onto a long balcony shared by many rooms. You’re one block from everything. There are a few things they could improve, but the issues were minor to us, especially in a small country that’s developing its tourism.

Aleida was amazing, always ready to help with directions, and Helen was great too. Delmi left our room spotless. The hotel is safe and clean, and the location is amazing. It took us less than five minutes to walk to the civic center. The parking lot was secure, though about a seven-minute walk away. You hear plenty of traffic and vendors during the day, but that comes with staying in central San Salvador. We’ll definitely stay here again. Thanks for making our stay more comfortable.

The beds and pillows made for a comfortable night, and the room felt cozy thanks to how clean and well kept everything was. Hotel Ábrego is also right by the historic center’s attractions, which made getting around easy. The staff were attentive, professional, and very kind from the moment we arrived. A great choice in the area, and I’d recommend it.
