Hotel Citlalli

Management handled the unused nights well. We'd paid for three, but after the bad stay we left after one and they refunded the other two. Breakfast was included and was actually pretty good. We barely slept, though. The walls are so thin that you hear everything outside, including music from a nearby club that continued late into the night. My room's layout also felt strange and short on privacy: one window was in the bathroom, and another opened from the room onto the hallway. There are no elevators, which could be a hassle with luggage or kids. The woman at the front desk that evening was unpleasant and unhelpful, adding to the discomfort. I stayed at Hotel Citlalli for one night, and it wasn't what I hoped for. It seems better suited to younger people or a quick overnight stop than to families or anyone wanting quiet. I wouldn't recommend it for a peaceful family stay, though it might work for younger travelers on a budget who want to be near nightlife.

The beds were clean and comfortable, the food was great, and the service was amazing. My family and I had a wonderful time. There are lots of nearby places, including nightlife. I recommend it!

It's a shame, because the place itself is nice, but the parking really hurts the experience. Expect cars double and triple parked, blocked driveways, and people yelling and swearing on the property and nearby.

San Benito is a handy base for the city center and well-known sights like El Boquerón and the Mayan ruins. I really enjoyed staying here while traveling around El Salvador. Our room was spotless and cleaned up perfectly each day, and the reception staff were kind and helpful. Thank you!
