InterContinental San Salvador-Metrocentro Mall

The hotel’s location is great, with a mall across the street, but music from the restaurant carried into the rooms past 11 pm. I’ll probably only stay here again if I’m looking to party. The bar service was slow, so order ahead, go play a game, then come back for your drink. My assigned room was nice and clean, but the first room I was sent to after check-in was already occupied. The shower head barely let water through, and with no shower door, it was cold while trying to clean up.

We had a great stay and would definitely come back. The beds were nice and everyone slept well, and the room cleaning was well done. Parking is free. There are two safes in the room, though it would’ve been nice if one were a microwave. We knew what was included before booking. The shower setup is strange: water went everywhere no matter what we tried, so we used several towels each day to soak it up. We only ate at the hotel once, at the sushi place, and it was good. Near Metro mall, there are lots of places to eat and buy essentials, which helped after the airline lost our luggage. I wish the room had a kettle since we drink tea, but it wasn’t a big deal.

The elegant, cozy lobby makes a nice first impression, and the hotel is very clean. It’s well located and easy to reach, which is convenient for visitors to El Salvador. The staff are friendly, helpful, and provide excellent service. The restaurant Faisca do Brasil was a highlight, with excellent food and a delicious breakfast buffet offering plenty of choices. The InterContinental is a comfortable hotel with great service and food.

I liked the comfortable bed, the room’s amenities like air-conditioning and good WiFi, and the friendly, professional staff throughout the hotel. The buffet offered good variety, and the on-site restaurants were solid. The location is excellent, right across from the huge Metrocentro Mall for shopping, food, and convenience stores. Traffic nearby can get quite heavy during peak times, which may affect arrival or departure. There was a concert event one night, and noise reached our room a bit. Rooms facing the busy street or on lower floors may hear evening noise. Some rooms also show wear, such as older decor or minor maintenance issues, so it’s worth checking your room when you arrive. It’s a convenient, well-serviced San Salvador hotel with good amenities and easy access to shopping and dining. I’d recommend it and return, especially with the right room. For the most comfort, ask for a higher floor away from the street.
