The rooms feel very old and weren’t especially clean. It’s expensive for such basic facilities, though there was hot water and air-conditioning.

Doña Alma and the staff are incredibly attentive, and you really feel at home here. The hotel is steeped in Salvadoran history and even has a meeting room. They make delicious pupusas, too. It was an honor to spend time with the great poet and writer Don Tirso Canales. Highly recommended!

I stayed for six unforgettable days and felt right at home. Mrs. Alma is wonderful, and talking with her was so pleasant I almost forgot I was abroad. The staff looked after me with love and care. The receptionist hung up on me when I called to ask if I could host two people visiting from abroad. They’d arrive at night and leave early in the morning, so I asked about hourly rates. The receptionist said this wasn’t a “motel.” Seriously, terrible service! They’re very prejudiced.

The breakfasts were delicious, and the place felt safe and peaceful. Everyone was warm and attentive, and they cleaned my room each day. It had that comfortable, family feeling. I’d gladly recommend it.
