There’s loud music at night from a nearby nightclub, and the towels were dirty. Worse, I found bed bugs, got bitten, and had a horrible reaction. I contacted the hotel to work it out, but they haven’t offered a proper resolution. Stay away for your health and peace of mind. One of the worst hotels in El Salvador, and I mean it.
Breakfast is part of the price, and it’s okay. For the cost, it’s not bad if all you need is somewhere basic to leave your bags, take a quick shower, and sleep in a decent bed. The location is good too, with restaurants, a gym, and a café bar nearby.
The breakfast and the people serving it were actually very nice, but I won’t be coming back. I’d loved my stay here a couple of months ago, so I booked again expecting that same cozy feeling. At check-in, nobody was at the desk. Someone told me to wait for the main person, then handed me a key and I went to my room. The room was okay, but I could hear everyone: staff laughing and talking in the hall, and a very loud family next door. There was no hot water, though I let that go at the time. On my last morning I woke up with two bed bugs crawling on me and saw two blood spots on the bed, so I knew I’d been bitten. I just wanted to leave. I went to shower, but there was no running water. At the front desk they looked at me strangely and said they’d check, and that I could have breakfast. After breakfast I asked if it was fixed. The man said he wasn’t sure because water worked in every room. When I mentioned the lack of hot water, he only said, “Oh, I’m sorry.” Back in the room, water came and went at low pressure. I showered and dropped it because I felt nobody cared and didn’t want another conversation.
Francisco at the front desk was great. Whenever we asked for something, he got right on it, and he helped arrange a driver for our requested departure time. The women working through the day kept the room and bathroom clean, brought water bottles, and took care of the details we asked about. We were traveling from Canada with my wife’s demanding medical needs, and the room was very clean. I know what clean looks like from my time as a US Marine. The bed, sheets, and pillows were comfortable, and they brought extra pillows when we asked. The place is quiet and pleasant, and the staff welcomed us with smiles and good manners. There are some repairs needed, but to me they were cosmetic. The restaurant food was good, though not great, and the prices made sense for the area. English can be a barrier, but guests from other countries, including Arabic and Hindus, seemed to manage communication with Google Translator. I’ve stayed at big chains around the world, including places costing over $350 a night, and they can miss people’s needs too. If you expect a hotel to be perfect for everyone, you’re setting the wrong expectation. For us, this was an affordable, clean place to stay, and we recommend it. Happy travels.
What I like most is where it is, right on the edge of Zona Rosa and across from Cadejo's brewery. It felt perfectly safe for travelers. The staff were friendly and the food was good too. A real find if you want a budget hotel.
