Villa del Angel Hotel

I had a terrible check-in experience, despite having visited 78 countries and more than 1,500 cities. I'd booked this hotel believing it was near the Historic Center, but on arrival I found it looked like someone's home in a more industrial area. The guide had said the city center was within walking distance, which clearly wasn't true. It was pouring, so I planned to stay at least one night, even though I was disappointed. Then a rude female front desk attendant called the manager, saying she couldn't find my reservation and that I'd said all sorts of things about how far away the hotel was. She made my complaint sound much worse than it was. I had only said the location didn't match the description in the book. The manager told me on the phone to go somewhere else if I didn't like their hotel. I felt so uncomfortable that I booked another place. A pleasant young male employee helped me find somewhere in the historic center that was charming, clean, friendly, and half the price. While he was helping me, the rude front desk girl kept asking if I'd found somewhere yet, as if telling me to leave. I recommend finding a nicer place where you'll feel welcome and valued as a guest.

Quiet, clean, and in an excellent location. Whenever I come to San salvador, I'll stay here.

It's a budget hotel, so go in knowing that. Some areas were worn and unclean, though our room was clean and the bathroom was worn. The staff were so friendly and helpful, and breakfast was good. It's about 4km from Historic Center. It did the job.

Villa del Angel was the best fit for our family and friends while we were in San Salvador for our daughter Noelia's Miss Universe competition. She's currently Miss USA. Grace, Daniel, their family, and the staff were so welcoming and helpful, and made us feel like family. We couldn't have picked a better place. We'll always remember their hospitality.
