Luis was incredibly kind during our three nights, and we loved hearing his stories about El Salvador. He speaks excellent English, replied quickly, and did everything he could to make us comfortable. The place feels homely, with a secure entrance, a nice shared courtyard and kitchen, and a handy spot near central Santa Ana. We used the laundry and moped rental he offered for small fees, and both were great. At checkout he even drove us to San Salvador for the Uber price we’d been quoted, which made our onward plans much easier. Highly recommend!

Luis is what makes Casa Vieja special. He picked us up in San Salvador, took us to several towns along the Ruta de Flores and to the Santa Ana volcano, and gave excellent recommendations for restaurants, activities, and even the best ATM. He communicated well and looked after us throughout the visit. The house itself is quiet and comfortable, with private rooms, bathrooms, air conditioning, and hot water. It’s easy to walk to everything, and they’ll make you a delicious breakfast in the morning. I’d happily return, and anyone staying in Santa Ana should consider Casa Vieja.

Luis and his family made us feel right at home at Casa Vieja Guest House. They were so warm and hospitable, and Luis had great suggestions for restaurants and things to do. We rented scooters and explored the area using his tips. The rooms were spacious and the Wi-Fi was fast. There’s free coffee in the morning and drinking water all day, which we appreciated. A wonderful stay!

Luis and his family made us feel so welcome and were attentive to what we needed. It’s a simple, good-value guest house with pleasant shared spaces, just a short walk from the square. Luis pointed us to a fantastic pupusa place, too. We also took advantage of the moped rental and a ride to San Salvador. Luis went out of his way to find extra helmets so they’d fit safely, and the ride was great company and conversation. A perfect homely place to stay, highly recommend :)

Luis and his family made us feel at home at Casa Vieja, and the location, value, facilities, and care were all excellent. We stayed three nights and were warmly welcomed by Luis. He gave us useful, tailored advice as a guide, which helped us fit everything into our short time in Santa Ana while keeping costs and travel time down. His tips covered buses, prices, guides, restaurants, and top sights. He also offers breakfasts for $2.50 per person and can adjust them to your tastes, plus local drop-offs for the cheapest Uber price. Our room was well equipped, with a ceiling fan, drawers, shelves, and tables. We were impressed by its quality and the hot shower, which isn’t common in El Salvador. A spacious, well-equipped kitchen, free filtered water, and fridge space are included. Laundry is available by the kilogram, and air conditioning costs a few dollars per night. The fan was enough for us, though the AC is a nice option if you want a colder room. Casa Vieja was a great base for the 7 Waterfalls hike, Ruta de Flores, Santa Ana volcano hike, and Lago de Coatepeque. We highly recommend it for a stay in Santa Ana. Oscar & Indy.
