Hotel Sevilla Usulutan

We arrived for a week and a half, only to find that the rooms they had promised us next to our family weren’t available. It took a whole ordeal to sort out, and in the end they put us on the same floor in a double room instead of the simple single we’d expected. The room had a window that wouldn’t close all the way, and unlike some others, our bathroom had no fan. On the third day, after being out, we came back to find a large part of the carpet and the bathroom soaked because the A/C was leaking. Maintenance came to “drain it,” but it kept dripping. Then I spotted a live cockroach under one of the beds and immediately called the lobby to ask for another room. The first thing they asked was whether I’d let the custodian into the room in recent days, which had nothing to do with the roach. The hotel was dirty, and that’s why they were there. They offered us a different room, but it was worse and under construction. The woman said it would get a full cleaning the next day. When we returned, the bathroom was still leaking and the room smelled funky, like dark sewage water.

The staff are very friendly and the pool area is nice, but the rooms and hallways need attention. The carpets and sofas were dirty, and the mattresses were old with no padding. Our window was broken and the toilet leaked. They moved us, but the mattress in the new room had also seen better days, and the towels didn’t seem to be washed. The A/C wasn’t cooling. I think the hotel has seen better days.

I paid for two nights when I stayed last July 2022, but had to leave after the first. A nice young lady gave me a small paper to redeem another time. When I returned on April 8 2023, I couldn’t find it, but the front desk guy found me in the computer and still wouldn’t honor the stay I’d already paid for. That’s why I’m giving this cheaply run hotel two stars. The rooms aren’t great, and the bathtubs or showers are inadequate, slippery, and bulging. Ugly pues!

A lot of updating is needed. There was no luggage cart, and the elevator is tiny.
