Commodore Suites, SureStay Collection by Best Western

We chose this hotel because options were limited on NYE, and the location made it easy to walk around Simpson Bay. It's very basic, and our stay wasn't a good one. The buffet was unappetizing, with pork cross-contamination, and the coffee tasted burnt. In the room, the sheets had an indecipherable reddish-brown stain, the pillowcases were stained, and the towels had hairs and marks on them. The sheets also didn't cover the bed, leaving the mattress cover exposed. I wish I'd taken more pictures. They said a problem with the laundry service meant they had no spare sheets or pillowcases. We were offered a smaller room, but instead took the sheets from that room rather than downgrade. The shower never had hot water, even after a plumber came. Staff tried to help with what they could control, but it still made for a bad experience.

The location worked really well, close to the airport with restaurants and a grocery store downstairs. The security guard at the entrance was always smiling and greeting guests, and the hotel staff were kind and helpful with my five-year-old daughter. I stayed for ten nights and would come back.

Commodore Suites felt safe and comfortable throughout our stay. The beach isn't right outside, but it's only a short walk away. We also liked having a market downstairs and several highly recommended restaurants nearby. Our room was clean and as advertised, with a comfortable bed and a very clean, thoughtfully designed bathroom. The rooftop balcony was lovely, and the staff were wonderful, helpful, and pleasant. We had a great visit and would definitely recommend it.

The location is ideal, and having a supermarket on the ground floor is handy. The employees were the best part: kind, service-minded, and ready to help. The hotel does need maintenance, though. My room smelled musty and could have been neater.
