The staff made a real effort to help me while I was in Syria. They arranged food to be delivered on my first night and helped sort out a taxi out of the country on my last afternoon. Between that service, the tucked-away spot in the heart of the old town, and the inviting public and private spaces, this hotel is an ultra-rare jewel. It offers the quality of the best hotels in France or Italy at a quarter of the price. The building is especially beautiful, perhaps one of the loveliest old Arab houses, or Beits Arabias. The bedrooms and bathrooms show real refinement in their style and finish, as do the toiletries and accessories. Even the brown Demerara sugar cubes in fine china bowls in the bedroom, ready for a cup of tea, stood out. For anyone fortunate enough to spend a few days in Damascus and able to stay somewhere like this, its beauty and class make it a must.

Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were friendly and helpful throughout my visit. Beit Zafran Hotel is a lovely place to stay, with a tranquil feel that made the experience comfortable and memorable. It’s a beautiful, well-kept old Damascene house, and its traditional architecture gives it a special charm. I’d happily recommend it.

Breakfast was sumptuous, a perfect way to begin a day in Damascus. The staff were welcoming and attentive, and made the stay comfortable. Beit Zafran is my first choice whenever I’m in this part of the city, and I’d highly recommend it. The restored Ottoman mansion is a beautiful sight, with every detail considered and an authentic feel throughout.

My wife Yasmin and I came from the U.S. for our first visit to Damascus and spent six days at this hotel. From the moment we walked in, the staff greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome. Their service was amazing, and everyone was friendly and accommodating. The hotel was exceptionally clean, and the team’s professionalism was second to none. We’ve stayed in hotels all over the world, but this was by far the most amazing hotel experience we’ve had. We highly recommend it and will definitely return when we’re back in Damascus. Wonderful staff and an amazing stay. Excellent job!
