The hotel is beautiful and well located in Grace Bay, but the service didn’t live up to the setting. If you’re expecting four- or five-star service, I’d avoid it. Most of our interactions, especially with the front desk and concierge, felt inattentive, unfriendly, and unhelpful. Staff training and service standards seemed closer to a two-star property. The food and drinks at the restaurant were average. Breakfast was especially disappointing, below what I’d expect from a typical Holiday Inn. We’d made two simple requests in advance, flowers and a bottle of wine at check-in. Neither was handled, and nobody made a real effort to resolve it. The wine we never received was still on our bill at checkout, though it was eventually removed. We told The Palms about our concerns directly before posting, to give management a chance to address them. The response was a generic apology and a hope that we’d return. That seems unlikely. We spent the second half of our trip at Salterra in South Caicos, and The Palms management should consider sending its staff there for a training weekend. The service at Salterra was exceptional.

This was our tenth stay at The Palms Resort since 2011, and we’re looking forward to returning after the room refresh. The suites are roomy, but they’re starting to feel dated and could use updating. The beach and overall atmosphere are outstanding. The waitstaff at the restaurants, bar, pool, and beach are consistently warm and attentive, and they’re a big part of what makes the experience. The front desk team were professional, though a little more welcoming would improve those interactions. Tisha stood out for being kind and helpful.

What made this such a relaxing trip for my little family was the people. The staff were the nicest I’ve ever met at a resort, and by the end they felt like family. My baby girl even ran over to hug Linda, one of the staff. The place was very clean, the rooms were comfortable, and the complimentary breakfast was great. We also loved the Mexican food at cicis restaurant.

I loved that the resort isn’t too big, and the grounds and beach access are gorgeous. The staff were generally super friendly, and I’d be happy to come back. With some work, this place could be top tier, especially given the competition on the island. A few things need attention. The gym is painfully small for a five-star resort, and there seems to be room to build a proper one. Filtered water stations around the property would cut down on all the plastic bottles. I tipped housekeeping $20 a day and kept asking for extra water, but mostly got ignored. In the men’s room, the sauna door doesn’t close properly, and the steam was broken on our last day. The setting at Parallel 23 is lovely, but the food is average at best. There’s a 15% service charge on all bills, and after we asked for our bill we waited over 30 minutes. That’s unacceptable. Breakfast needs to run more efficiently too. It took too long to get coffee and the bill, and I want to get in and out. The coffee was gross and tasted like very cheap stuff, the baked goods were low quality, and another chef at the omelette station could help move things along.

The rooms are huge and gorgeous, and the spa, pool, and beach setup were breathtaking. The Palms was everything and more. The staff were friendly, helpful, and so accommodating, and they really wanted our stay to be perfect. Tischa was amazing. We’ll SOOOOO be back! I can’t recommend this hotel enough.
