El Doria Hotel

I really enjoyed the rooftop and its views. This is a great place for corporate meetings and events.

There was plenty of space, and the place met our needs. The standards were good for the budget.

The lighting system is a clever touch, though they haven't carried that innovation over to the TV. They should show more awareness clips on the TVs in reception and the restaurant, with pictures of the whole facility. I wouldn't have known about the nice rooftop bar and its view if I hadn't been with my colleague. Still, it was a nice experience and the hospitality was good.

One star is already too generous. We found two big cockroaches in a bathroom. The staff member sent to deal with them hit them with a slipper and carried them away. Another bathroom reeked of urine, apparently because the previous guests had used the floor as a toilet and no one had cleaned it properly. The toilet seat was covered in pee, and there was a dead cockroach under the sink as well. They brought an extra bed without a sheet, so we had to call at 11 pm to get one. A door handle in one of the rooms was broken, and water in the bathrooms kept cutting out in the morning. Breakfast wasn't anything special either. It was a complete disaster, and none of the staff tried to make things right. There was a steady leak above reception dripping onto the desk, and no one seemed interested in fixing it. When I pointed it out, they told me to move a little to the side.
