Aonang Hill Krabi Sha Extra Plus

We spent 3 nights here and had a lovely stay. The hill view from the property is gorgeous, and the clean pool was great for a swim. It’s around a 20 minute walk to the main street area, with a pick and drop service offered every hour. Breakfast is complimentary, which worked perfectly since we spent our days exploring. The staff were kind, quick, and helpful. We booked our 4-island tour through the hotel with Orchid tours, and had zero hastles. A quiet, romantic getaway, and I’d definitely recommend it. There’s no room service or elevator, but neither got in the way of our holiday.

The free beach shuttle came in handy, though it’d be great if it ran later in the evening. Ao Nang doesn’t shut down at 9pm. The pool isn’t huge, but it’s a lovely place to relax with the dramatic limestone cliff behind it. We stayed several nights and really appreciated how quiet it was. The hotel sits off the main beach road on a calmer side street, so you can get away from Ao Nang’s bustle and still be reasonably close to everything. Our room was well maintained, comfortable, and looked out over the pool. The staff were genuinely helpful, and breakfast had a good variety. It’s not the cheapest option, but the price feels fair for the quality, setting, and service. If you want to be near the beach without all the noise, this is a nice balance.

For a short, simple stay, this well-kept three-star hotel has nice views and could suit calm travelers or small families. Still, I wouldn’t choose it again. Our room was on the fourth floor, and there’s no elevator. We asked to move lower, but the hotel was full and said no. The hotel is also far from the beach and main areas without a car. There is a shuttle, but it’s often full at busy times, so we faced long waits or had to take a taxi. Mosquitoes were another problem. I know they’re part of being in Thailand, but at the previous hotel on this trip, which was closer to the beach and very well maintained, I wasn’t bitten in the room or common areas. Here we were bitten several times in both the room and reception. The doors and windows are left open for long stretches, which likely contributes. The pool area was very quiet, and some calm background music would have given it more atmosphere. The bar closes at 10 p.m. and serves only soft drinks and beer. I was disappointed there was no coconut water. The crowd seemed older and quiet, so it may not suit younger families or travelers wanting lively areas and evening walks without relying on transport.

Breakfast is included and was very good, with plenty of variety, fruit, and sweets. The hotel is pleasant and quiet, near the cliffs with a beautiful view of them. The bungalow rooms are modern, clean, and finished to a high standard.
