Aonang Miti Resort

The hotel is older, though very clean, and the rooms are simple, spacious and tidy. For the price, I expected a bit more from the rooms. It’s near the main tourist market but still a fair way from Ao Nang beach, so you’ll need a bike or tuk-tuk, which costs 200 THB one way. Service was the main letdown: no room service, and the staff were impolite and didn’t seem to make an effort to look after guests.

The pool was the only part of the hotel I liked, and even there the chemical smell was overpowering, like there was too much chlorine. The room was dated and badly in need of renovation, and the mattress was rock hard, so the nights were uncomfortable. Reception was unfriendly when we arrived and downright rude at checkout. One staff member even coughed right in my face. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel.

We stayed for 10 nights. The room was spacious and clean, and the cleaning service was nice. The location was okay, with plenty of cheap restaurants around and about a 20-minute walk to Aonang beach. Comfort and service were average for a cheap price. For the last three days, water dripped from the air conditioner. We told staff, but they ignored us. It’s really sad that the hotel staff don’t seem to care about the place or their work.

The location was the only good part. The room was dreary and depressing, nothing like the online photos, and didn’t meet basic hotel standards. There were no lamps, just harsh fluorescent lighting, no fan, and no phone to contact staff. We went downstairs to ask for another lamp and the replacement was broken too. The air conditioner was outdated and barely worked. It couldn’t be set below 20°C, and even after more than an hour the room still felt warm and humid, including the sheets. Worst of all, there was black grime or mildew in the shower. We left immediately without staying a night. Another review mentioned the same issue, so it may not have been a one-off. Staff were unfriendly from the start, and got worse when we raised concerns. No apology, no effort to fix anything. We switched to Aspira Escape, which was MUCH better, with actual customer service, a clean and comfortable room, and help with our bags. Do yourself a favor and book elsewhere.
