Baan Ari Pool Villa

A great place to stay in a private villa in Krabi.

Good.

The pool was large enough for five of us, and the kitchen was spacious and thoroughly cleaned. We also got complimentary fruit once a day and snacks daily. Charcoal for a barbecue is available for an extra fee, and there are a few cats nearby, which cat lovers may find relaxing. Getting around is inconvenient, but apart from that the stay was decent. I was excited to try a private pool villa for the first time, so I took a taxi from downtown to get there. There were three identical rooms, each with its own bathroom. My room on the first floor was clean, but the sheets had a lot of yellow stains. I complained and they changed them, though it seems they don't check properly. There was no separate lobby, just a manager on staff. For problems or to ask for the free round-trip taxi service, which is available once a day, you have to phone the owner. Sometimes there was no answer. When you reach the boss, a staff member gets the call and comes to you, which was quite inconvenient. I was also caught off guard about payment. After booking on Agoda, the payment hadn't gone through, and when I went in person assuming I could pay by card, they told me to withdraw cash. I would have been in serious trouble without extra cash. On the last day, they said the airport trip I'd booked by phone wasn't confirmed. That was pretty absurd. If I hadn't called to check during the trip, I wouldn't have been able to get to the airport. Since there's no lobby and everything has to be arranged by phone, I wouldn't recommend it to someone who doesn't speak English well.
