Ban Sainai Resort

The team were so friendly and helpful, we couldn’t fault them. It’s an easy walk to the main strip and the beach, and taxis are reasonably priced if you’d rather not walk. We loved breakfast by the pond, and the mango smoothies were amazing. The pool looks out at the cliffs and is gorgeous. Our room was spotless and peaceful, with a huge bathroom and a nice mix of traditional and modern style. It felt like paradise, and we’d happily return if we’re in Krabi again.

The pool was the kind of place I could stay in all day, and the views around it were calming and beautiful. It’s about a 15 minute walk to the beach, though they also run hourly transfers. They don’t serve alcohol, but there are plenty of nearby places to get a beer. The rooms were spacious, clean and lovely, and breakfast was generous and well prepared. The staff were some of the kindest, most laid-back people I’ve met, always ready to help. One of the most beautiful resorts I’ve had the chance to stay at.

The pool really is spectacular, though you may see plenty of Instagram photo shoots there. We had the best breakfast of our Thailand trip, too. I’d recommend a pond view, it made for a beautiful stay. There were lots of bugs near the pond, so just use common sense and keep the door shut at night when the lights are on. You can take a shuttle to Ao Nang beach or walk about 20 minutes. Restaurants and shops are just up the road. The resort itself is stunning.

We were there four days with our six-month-old, staying in a Sainai Forest Cottage, and honestly have no complaints. It cost more than some places, but was worth it and even better than we’d expected. The setting is beautifully kept and peaceful, with a real feeling of being in nature, away from noisy, chaotic central Ao Nang. The pool area is thoughtfully designed and has a fantastic view. Our cottage was spacious, new, nicely decorated and practical, with a lovely bathroom, good air conditioning and a convenient spot near the pool. Breakfast had a good range and was high quality. The staff were warm and welcoming, especially kind to our little boy. They also arranged airport transport and had a baby cot ready before we arrived.
