Koko Hostel Adults only (18-40)

The front bar is a fun, busy spot, and the hostel runs plenty of events, including a pub crawl, so it’s easy to meet people. The staff are lovely and chatty, which made it easy to talk as a solo traveler. The rooms are really nice, and the curtains give you more privacy than others in the area.

Some people may find it too noisy at night, but I had a great time at Koko Hostel last week. It’s only a three-minute walk to the beach, with plenty of shops nearby. It’s a party hostel, so you can go with the crowd. The party winds down at 1am each night. Breakfast was included and decent for the price I paid: toast, poached eggs, cereal, fruit and instant coffee. I really enjoyed my stay. If you’re traveling solo and like to party, this place is worth considering ❤️

We only stopped in for drinks and to watch football, and the visit turned unpleasant fast. The beer was extremely overpriced. At half-time we stepped just three metres away to play pool, and when we came back our two pitchers had been taken and a very rude couple were sitting at our table. It took far too long to get the table back. Then, when we asked for our drinks, staff acknowledged taking only one pitcher and handed us another as if it were free. The bill showed it wasn’t complimentary, and they insisted we pay for an extra pitcher we never requested. We only wanted the one we’d already ordered returned. When we refused, they repeatedly threatened to call the police 🤯🤯. We paid and went on with our day, but it was an unpleasant experience.

The rooms were comfy and clean, and breakfast was available too. KOKO Hostel has a fun, laid-back feel, with really friendly people. There are parties every day until about midnight, so keep that in mind if you stay. We’d happily come back 😊✨
