New Central Guesthouse

It’s a short walk, about a minute, to Khaosan Road, yet the guesthouse itself stays calm while the street is busy at night. Rooms are clean and tidy, though on the small side. Some have private bathrooms and others share them. The rates are good for what you get. Service was just okay. We stayed three days and got complimentary water only on the first day, two small bottles for three people. Decent place overall, but the service could’ve been better.

For the price, this is very good value. It’s a quiet, pleasant guesthouse close to kaosan road and other cultural sites. There’s a clerk on duty 24 hours, a safe, and a small smoking balcony on each floor, with a water dispenser just a step away. Don’t expect four-star standards, but it’s not a dump either.

It was very quiet at night, so I slept well, and the shared toilets and showers were kept in good shape. The whole place was clean, and after three nights I had no complaints. The location is superb and it’s good value for money. The rooms are small, with no furniture besides the bed. The beds are firm, Thai-style. The daytime receptionist was lovely, and there’s a smoking balcony.

The room was quiet and cool, and the price was really cheap for an air-conditioned place near khaosan road. Mine had a private bathroom, though that depends on the room you book. There was a ceiling fan and air conditioning, plus three bottles of water, which felt like a nice extra for cheap lodging. I didn’t need to run either cooling option much. The counter clerk was the best worker, not impolite at all, even though we couldn’t communicate in the same language. My room was very small and had no window, so it felt a little stuffy. I didn’t see bedbugs or other bugs. Cheap, quiet, and close to khaosan.
