De Malee Pool Villas

We had a great honeymoon in the grand villa with the pool. The staff service was incredible, especially Deena and Satang. They run a shuttle to Ao Nang Beach, and when we booked dinner at hilltop, they even arranged for the restaurant to pick us up. Ao Nang Beach and Landmark are close enough. There’s a convenient WhatsApp setup for requests, so you can message instead of calling reception and they get it done. Breakfast was decent but could be better. They offer a floating Brekky, though since we came in the rainy season, ours became room service instead. The place is a bit outdoorsy, so don’t be surprised if you see frogs or bugs around. That’s part of the experience. My husband and I had a great time!

The private pool in our room was the highlight. There were only a few guests while we were there, which made the atmosphere with the staff feel personal and pleasant. Nas deserves a special mention. He was kind and attentive, and kept making us smile. The whole team was incredibly friendly and welcoming, and everything felt just right from start to finish. We really enjoyed our stay.

The private pool was the highlight of our three-night honeymoon at Da Malee Villa in Krabi in late April 2025. We took morning dips before breakfast, had coffee in the water, and even had breakfast served beside the pool. The villa felt like our own peaceful retreat, with a spacious bedroom, attached dressing area and a large, comfortable bathroom with a bathtub. It was clean, serene and beautifully maintained, and the staff were attentive and friendly. Complimentary pick-up and drop service to Ao Nang Beach and the Ao Nang Market area made evenings out easy. We had only one small downside, the villa had limited vegetarian food options, so keep that in mind if you prefer a purely veg diet. The nearby Ao Nang Night Market was a lively place to visit in the evening. After sunset, food stalls served local Thai street eats like spring rolls, tropical fruit smoothies, Tom Yum and other snacks. There were also stalls with clothes, souvenirs and handmade trinkets. Lights and music gave it a social, local buzz and a taste of everyday life in Krabi beyond the beach resorts. Along with the spacious villa and pool, those market evenings added a fun cultural touch to our honeymoon.

We enjoyed the stay, mainly because the staff were lovely and the location was great. We rented a motorbike with the villa’s help, and liked being in a quiet spot away from the main area of Ao Nang, just 5 mins away by bike. Check-in was fairly quick and easy. Our villa and pool were both great, and the pool was nice for cooling down. We’d booked De Malee for our honeymoon and had specifically mentioned it in our request, but only my name was written on the bed. There was no sign for my partner or any other honeymoon acknowledgment, which was a shame. The first morning’s floating breakfast was disappointing. We ordered Eggs Benedict and Pancakes, but the pancakes were just flattened croissant with icing sugar, and the food arrived cold. The hot drinks were the only good part. We thought breakfast was buffet-only and only found out on the third day that we could order warm food separately. The F&B section could improve, there wasn’t much choice and the food was cold. Also, who serves pasta and champagne early in the morning as part of a breakfast buffet? On checkout day, we thought they’d arranged a car to the airport, but there must have been a miscommunication, so we ordered our own. Staff didn’t help with the luggage, and my partner had to carry it himself. Once we were in the car, a staff member came over to say goodbye, which made us think he’d avoided helping us with the bags. On our last day, I also found a little cockroach by the toiletries. The stay was still enjoyable, but the breakfast and service could be better.
