Rattana Resort

For a couple of days this resort is fine, depending on what you need, and the pool is a plus. The beach nearby is usually empty and catches nice sunset light, but there’s little else around. The reception can arrange a motorbike, and one was brought right to the resort for us. Some basic care would make the place much better. Our room had nowhere to put things or hang clothes, just a small, completely broken hanger. The flower pots had become ashtrays. If your house is farther from the pool, the view isn’t as spectacular as the photos suggest. The reception was messy and smelled terrible. Monkeys sneak around and steal food and other things, and a small warning by the houses would help. They tear open food packets, leaving plastic packaging around the resort for several days. We also asked reception about a bus to Krabi, and they had no idea, as if no guest had ever travelled from the mainland and asked.

The pool was nice, and monkeys came by to drink from it. They seemed harmless and quite afraid of people. The location is okay if you have a car, not far from the pier or beach. Our room was basic but had a comfortable bed. The bathroom was smelly and very small, with the toilet seat right up against the wall. There was no wardrobe, and we found a baby cockroach in the room.

Date: 20.01.2026 I booked two nights and was allowed to choose a cottage, but shortly after check-in I found it had none of the basic bathroom amenities. It was also very hard to communicate with reception: the staff spoke only Thai and struggled with Google Translate. Then they said we had to move because the cottage was supposedly booked. I checked it myself later and nobody was staying there. We were lied to and made to move. The replacement cottage was very old, with outdated furniture, bathroom and bed. There’s no breakfast, food options are far away, and the mosquitoes are unbearable. Even 10 minutes outside without repellent left me with severe bites. Poor management, dishonesty and no concern for guest comfort. One of the worst hotel experiences I’ve had. I’d give -1 star if I could and strongly don’t recommend this place.

Quiet and private, with a nice, cozy room that’s good for healing. The pool is nice too. If you want to get away from noisy surroundings, consider this place.
